My professor in Info Tech Marketing has both me and my classmates running a little experiment. This experiment involves including key words in your blog/website in order to have your website or blog show up when these key words are searched in Google, Yahoo, and other various search engines. The first is a the word nworbxela. If one were to search this word, you can plainly see that the members of my class have made this apart of each of their blogs. Outdoor trampolines chester is the other phrase that we are including in our blogs. This brings up KidsCorner which will be pageranked higher the more blogs that include this phrase along with the name of the site.

Tell me a bit more about Newark, Delaware

Check it out on Wikipedia

Shaggy's on Main

Shaggy's on Main may be trying to take over the tradition of the Balloon's mug night. Shaggy's now offers white mugs with their logo in blue on the side. Wednesday seems to be the night that the mugs are used. Check out the difference between all the mugs offered currently on Main Street (picture below).
The food at Shaggy's is also noteworthy. The appetizers are extremely good. The Calypso Grilled Chicken Quesadilla and the Artichoke and Spinach Dip are quite tempting anytime you go in.
Check out Shaggy's online

The Stone Balloon

Unfortunately, the one and only Stone Balloon has been scheduled to close on December 17th. This historic bar has hosted some of the most famous performers and bands. Some of these include: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, The Dave Matthews Band, Metallica, and Train. Some other favorite cover bands include Mr. Green Genes, Kristen and the Noise, Burnt Sienna, and Love Seed Mama Jump. The Balloon has even been rated by Playboy magazine as one of the top 100 college bars in America. Every single Tuesday and Thursday night you can get $1 Natural Light Drafts, $1.50 Shiner Bock and Moosehead Drafts, $2 One Liquor Rail Drinks, $3 any other drink, and $4 180 and Red Bull. The last Mug night is on December 15th and the last actual night at the Balloon is the 17th. Sadly, these mugs are no longer sold: ( Make sure you check out the Balloon before it closes. You'll definately have a good time!)

Stone Balloon is located on 115 East Main StreetNewark, DE 19711.

Bloom
If you walk down Main Street you may come across a teeny store with extravagent window decor. This little store that you walk past is called Bloom. Not many people know about Bloom. I couldn't even find information pertaining to their location on the internet. Despite their lack of marketing, they do seem to have a steady flow of customers coming in and out of the store. Bloom carries a variety of housewarming gifts including candles, frames, cards, and other various odds and ends. Bloom is one of Newark's best kept secrets. This gift shop has many gifts to choose from. I once bought my sister an assortment of goodies for her birthday and the present was a hit. So next time you need to buy a gift- stop in Bloom!

Bloom is located next to Abbott's Shoe Repair, Bert's Record Store, and Cafe Gelato

D.P. Dough

Okay, I don't care how healthy you are, at one point in time everyone has had D.P. Dough. Their calzones have to be one of the best "late night" foods around. Fortunately or unfortunately(however you like to see it), Newark has a D.P. Dough. Like many other college campus towns, Newark's D.P. Dough is located on Main Street. D.P. Dough can be seen as the fear of the incoming, toothpick-size freshman or the friend to those looking for cheap food. Many a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday night is spent by college students and Newark residents at this establishment. They have the Roni-Zone, the Pesto Zone, The loading zone, and the buffer zone among various other zones. You name it, they have some sort of crazy calzone made to please your taste buds. If you're looking after your weight, this would NOT be the be place to go (unless you want to get one of their salads). They even have the construction zone, which is where you can build your own calzone. So, if you're looking for a place to eat late night- D.P. Dough is where to go.

What kinds of calzones can you get?

Peddler's Liquor Mart

Upon walking into Peddler's in the College Square Shopping Center, I was immediately carded by five, anxious police officers in their "undercover" clothing. Unfortunately, Peddler's has been the subject of scrutiny under the Newark Police eye. The liquor store, located next to Pathmark, has recently been watched closely for selling to underage consumers. Despite issues with the law, Peddler's offers quite the variety when it comes to liquors and beers. For the broke 21- year- old, Peddler's offers $45 kegs of Natty light. Natty light is the essence of college party beer (not to mention high quality-just kidding) In other words, Peddler's is one of the top sellers when it comes to the consumption of students at the University of Delaware. Peddler's staff is also something to note. Cheerful and pleasant, they serve through all kinds of weather. (They were even open when students could trudge to the liquor store, but not to class in the snow!) Amidst the rising prices of gas, one of the employees even went as far to say, "Buy less gasoline, buy more liquor!" If you're a beer/liquor fanatic, bottoms up and check this store out. If you're not the drinking type- no problem, now you have more money for gas!

Peddler's Liquor Mart...where am I?

What do other have to say about Peddler's?

Post House

Picture this, you wake up Sunday morning and you walk down your steps at home. You find you grandmother cooking bacon and eggs for you in the kitchen and you can smell the fresh toast in the toaster oven. This is exactly what you will see when you enter the doors of the Post House. Around three to four white haired, rosy cheeked women pleasantly put together a well balanced meal for you in the am. Breakfast is without a doubt the specialty at this restaurant, however they do sell lunch and dinner. The restaurant itself is not very well up to date in architecture or style, but the food is some of the best found on Main Street. In reference to price, there's no need to empty your bank account. Post House is as cheap as you can get. You can get a breakfast special of two eggs (any style), choice of bacon or any meat, and home fries...All for the price of $4.99 (All with the loving care of a grandmother's touch). Next time you're on Main Street and Newark Bagel is closed, make sure you check out the Post House for a breakfast you can not beat!

Take me to Post House!

Flavor Clothing

Once upon a time, when the existing seniors at University of Delaware were itty bitty freshmen, Main Street used to have a few clothing stores on Main Street. Newark even had a Gap! Today, the streets of Newark are void of any apparel. Luckily, Main Street still has one clothing shop- the one and only Flavor! Flavor has been around for the past 10 years. Some may know them for their different style in clothing, some may know them for their accessories, and others know them for their "back room". Behind closed curtains, customers come from all around to buy their tobacco smoking products. Most girls and highly stylish men, however, can find the latest in denim at this diverse store. Flavor always seems have the newest styles in jeans. Flavors accessories include earrings, nose rings, and belly rings (among other various piercing-related items.) So next time you need a pair of jeans or something to wear out on the weekend and you don't feel like going to the mall, just make a quick stop at Flavor!
